I'm a complete beginner. Is that okay?

Yes, complete beginners are welcome. You'll get the most out of lessons if you can already read hiragana and katakana — but if you're just starting out, we'll meet you where you are during the free trial.

What happens in the free trial?

A relaxed 25-minute session on Google Meet. We'll assess your Japanese level, have a friendly conversation, and you'll get a feel for how Frensei teaches — real native Japanese, not a sales pitch.

How are lessons conducted?

All lessons are 1-on-1 online via Google Meet. Each lesson is 50 minutes. You just need a stable internet connection and a quiet place to talk.

What makes Frensei different from language apps?

Apps teach vocabulary and grammar, but not how people actually talk — or why Japanese works the way it does. Frensei focuses on real phrases, role-play, and the native sensibility behind the language.

How much do lessons cost after the trial?

Standard is $79/month (4 × 50-min lessons). Intensive is $139/month (8 lessons). Both include the Pro app free — you don't pay an extra $12.99 on top. Pro ($12.99/month) is only if you want the app without lessons.

Can I pause my plan?

Yes. To pause, please contact us before payment is processed — by the 20th of each month. We'll take care of it from there.

Can I cancel or reschedule a lesson?

You can cancel or reschedule up to 24 hours before your lesson. After that, changes are not possible — so please book a time you're confident you can make.
